PoE 2 0.5.5: U4GM Guide to Perfect Jeweller's Orb Farming
The Perfect Jeweller's Orb is one of the more important currency items for players pushing a main Skill Gem toward its full Support Gem setup in Path of Exile 2 0.5.5. POE 2 Currency becomes increasingly important once your build reaches endgame, and getting a five-support setup can make a noticeable difference when your chosen supports work well together.
What Does the Perfect Jeweller's Orb Do?
The Perfect Jeweller's Orb sets an eligible Skill Gem to five Support Gem sockets. Unlike the original Path of Exile system, it is not used to randomly reroll equipment sockets.
The important part is that you can use a Perfect Jeweller's Orb directly on a gem with fewer than five sockets. You do not need to upgrade the gem through Lesser or Greater Jeweller's Orbs first.
What Five Sockets Mean
A Skill Gem with five Support Gem sockets is often referred to as a "six-link" because the active skill itself is counted alongside its five supports.
However, getting five sockets does not automatically make a build stronger. The real improvement comes from filling those slots with supports that actually benefit the skill.
For example, before using the orb, consider:
• Which five Support Gems fit your main skill?
• Do they improve the same damage type?
• Will they increase clear speed or boss damage?
• Does your build need defensive or utility support instead?
How to Use a Perfect Jeweller's Orb
Using the orb is straightforward, but it is worth checking the target before confirming the upgrade.
On PC:
1. Right-click the Perfect Jeweller's Orb.
2. Select the eligible Skill Gem.
3. Confirm the upgrade.
4. Open the Skill Gems panel and check the new Support Gem sockets.
The result is deterministic. The orb sets the gem to five Support Gem sockets rather than randomly rolling a number.
If you are planning to buy POE 2 Currency, make sure you know which Skill Gem you want to upgrade first. Spending valuable currency on a temporary leveling gem is usually less useful than saving the upgrade for the skill you expect to keep in your endgame setup.
Item Granted Skills Can Also Benefit
The system is not limited to ordinary standalone Skill Gems. Jeweller's Orbs can also interact with skills granted by items.
This is particularly useful for builds that rely on equipment-granted abilities. If an item provides multiple skills, upgrading its support capacity can affect those skills as described by the current system.
That means you should check your complete skill setup before deciding where to spend the orb. A skill granted by an item may provide better long-term value than a gem you are only using temporarily.
Where to Farm the Perfect Jeweller's Orb
The Perfect Jeweller's Orb has a listed drop level of 65, so it is primarily an endgame currency item rather than something players should expect to find regularly during the campaign.
If you want to farm one yourself, prioritize content that lets your character kill large numbers of enemies without sacrificing too much clear speed.
Several activities can make sense for this type of currency hunting:
• Breach: Dense enemy packs create plenty of opportunities for currency drops.
• Delirium: Extra monster density can increase the number of enemies you kill per map.
• High-level mapping: Choose layouts your build clears quickly and consistently.
• Trial of Sekhemas: At area level 65 and above, its built-in reward bonuses make it another useful endgame activity.
These are farming opportunities, not guaranteed sources. Your actual results will depend on map density, clear speed, modifiers, and luck.
Don't Overinvest in Delirium
Patch 0.5.5 changes how Delirium scales. Monster packs no longer continue increasing beyond 100% Deliriousness, so pushing the mechanic further does not automatically mean more enemies.
This matters when calculating your farming setup. If higher investment makes maps significantly slower or more dangerous without adding enough value, the extra cost may not be justified.
For players looking for cheap POE 2 Currency farming, efficient mapping is often more important than stacking every available modifier.
Should You Farm or Trade?
There are two practical ways to get a Perfect Jeweller's Orb.
Farm it yourself if your character already clears high-level content efficiently and you enjoy the grind. This avoids paying the current market price, but there is no guarantee you will see the orb quickly.
Use the Currency Exchange if your build is already ready for the five-support upgrade and waiting for a random drop is slowing your progression. Check the current offers in your own league because prices can change as the economy develops.
